Dundee forward Greg Stewart is on the verge of joining Birmingham City following claims a fee has now been agreed between the two clubs. The 26-year-old has been hoping to get a move in this transfer window, and was also linked with Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.

The Dundee Evening Telegraph has confirmed Birmingham City and Dundee have agreed to a transfer fee of £500k despite reports throughout this window the SPL club wanted £1.5m for the prized asset.

Stewart’s representatives are now in talks with the Championship side with regards to the player’s personal terms, and a deal now looks close to being completed.

These latest developments will come as a surprise after reports yesterday Birmingham City could pull out of the race for the striker after signing Che Adams from Sheffield United. However, it seems the club’s leaders have released more funds to improve the squad.

This will come as a blow to those who have been tracking Stewart in recent weeks, including Leeds United and QPR. Throughout the summer Leeds United have been showing an interest in Stewart, whilst more recently QPR have been linked.

Stewart has just under 12 months left on his contract with Dundee, meaning the Scottish club risked losing him on a free transfer next summer.
