The Turkish sport media love to paraphrase, which can sometimes lead to confusion for people not used to that way of reporting. If they believe an agent has told a club something, or a player said something to a manager, often rather than just giving the gist of the story they will paraphrase what they think has been said.
That’s the case with a surprising story this week on João Félix. Sporx, one of the major sport outlets in Turkey, reports Jorge Mendes, the Chelsea owned player’s agent, has said that if Galatasaray can come to an agreement with the Blues then the move will happen.
João Félix is currently on loan from Chelsea at AC Milan. That spell started relatively well for the 25-year-old, but once again things have since fallen off a cliff and it’s unlikely the Rossoneri will be keeping him around.
Sporx paraphrase Jorge Mendes as saying “My player will play for Galatasaray” if an agreement can be found with Chelsea.
The player’s camp are said to be keen on the move, and Galatasaray want the Chelsea man. Moving to Turkey at the age of 25 isn’t exactly the career step João Félix thought he’d be taking at that age.
