Eden Hazard to Real Madrid is getting boring for Don Balon now.
It’s not enough for the Spanish website to have several claims a week about the Belgian international moving to Spain, so they’ve now dragged a Chelsea teammate into the equation.
‘Hazard does not come alone’ says the Don Balon headline and it’s claimed Real Madrid would also like to sign César Azpilicueta.
The Spaniard’s versatility is seen as a big plus for any transfer, and also his attitude. Through a string of managers at Stamford Bridge, Azpilicueta has continued to perform, without the drama coming from some of his teammates.
This is why he’d be a ‘sure bet’ for Real Madrid, according to the wild transfer claims.
But it’s also why there’s another ‘sure bet’. Chelsea have the 28 year old on a contract lasting until June 2020, so they’re under absolutely no pressure to sell.
Given the player’s service to Chelsea, they may consider a move if he truly wants an exit, but that would be on the club’s terms and it’s unlikely Azpilicueta would kick up too much of a fuss.
This all looks like Don Balon getting bored with Hazard, and throwing Azpi in to brighten things up.
