For the past few weeks, reports in Italy have talked about Juventus’ Manuel Locatelli as a potential target for Arsenal.

The Serie A side took the midfielder from Sassuolo in 2021, on a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy. He has failed to impress for the Turin club on a regular basis.

On October 3rd, Calciomercato stated that Arsenal have made contact over a move for the 24-year-old in the winter market. It was also explained the Old Lady could part ways with him if they receive a good offer.

The Italy international’s irregular performances have been criticised, while there are other clubs looking at him more optimistically. According to Il Bianconero, the Gunners are among the sides in the mix to sign the player.

Locatelli has long been ‘liked’ by both Mikel Arteta and ‘super Arsenal’. It’s said the north London club would have ‘no problem in satisfying’ Juve’s economic demand to sign him.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side will have to pay €40m to Sassuolo to make the player’s stay permanent. The report explains this is the minimum fee Juve will need to part ways with Locatelli.
