Last month, Africa Foot reported Sunderland have held talks with Fiorentina over a move for Eddy Kouadio in the summer window.
Fiorentina News now back up the Black Cats wanting the 18-year-old and then provide the latest as they see it.
The centre-back has climbed the ranks of La Viola’s youth system but is yet to debut for the senior team. The report says the Sunderland target has been part of the B list for the UEFA Conference League.
Kouadio is managed by Alessandro Moggi and Fiorentina News state Sunderland’s ‘interest is alive’. They make it clear it’s their own information about the Championship club.
He has already represented Italy’s U17 and U19s and also has an Ivory Coast passport. The young defender’s contract at Fiorentina lasts until 2027, but the report explains his future is still to be written.
With Sunderland keen on signing him, a move depends on the proposal they are willing to put on the table to convince both the youngster and his club.
Kouadio’s desire is to continue his development with the Serie A club. At the same time, the ‘allure of the English football’ may tempt him to join Sunderland.
