Inter Milan are in negotiations to sign Italian international Antonio Candreva, but are yet find an agreement with Lazio. The Serie A club are ready to turn their attention towards other targets should they fail to complete a deal soon.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday, Inter Milan could be interested in signing Sunderland forward Fabio Borini.
Gazzetta say there is always room for Borini at Inter, as he has been a long term transfer target for them.
The 25-year-old completed his move to Sunderland at the start of the season in a €11m deal from Liverpool, and it’s not clear if the Premier League side would want to sell him. If Lazio are struggling to find a reasonable fee for Candreva then it may be expected they’d want a cheap deal from Sunderland too.
Given how long Sunderland spent trying to sign Borini themselves it may be doubtful that they’d quickly let him go for a relatively low fee.
Borini scored 5 goals in 22 starts last season, and has another three years left on his contract.
