Sunderland are in the picture to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Ayman Kari on deadline day, according to Le10 Sport.
Last season, the midfielder was on loan at FC Lorient, who were relegated from the Ligue 1. He made 15 appearances, and his game time was partly restricted due to two different injuries.
Kari has returned to the Paris club, but hasn’t managed to convince Luis Enrique so far. PSG are looking to carry out a few exits in the next few hours and the 19-year-old’s name is included in this list.
AS Roma and FC Basel have been courting the youngster and also made contact. The two clubs are now joined by Sunderland in the transfer race. The report mainly focuses on the Black Cats’ interest to try and secure his services.
Le10’s title says Régis Le Bris’ side are accelerating, and within the report, it’s claimed they are ‘pushing behind the scenes’ to acquire the youngster’s signature.
Sunderland have ‘entered into discussions’ and are ‘actively working’ to sign the player on a loan deal. The France U19 international has no future and PSG. It needs to be seen whether he’ll end up at the Championship side or another club.
Transfermarkt claim Kari has less than a year left on his contract. If PSG were to let him join Sunderland on a season-long loan deal, they will see him leave as a free agent next summer.
