Last week, Borussia Dortmund’s delegation were in England to hold talks for Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.

Borussia Dortmund desperately want to sign the midfielder, but it won’t be easy because of the new competition. That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who say Eintracht Frankfurt have joined them and RB Leipzig in the transfer race.

Sky’s claim is echoed by Bild, who then share more on Eintracht Frankfurt’s interest in the Sunderland star.

They state the Bundesliga club ‘see a good chance’ of securing the 19-year-old’s services in the summer window.

Eintracht Frankfurt are in third spot, two points ahead of fourth placed SC Freiburg and three ahead of fifth placed BVB.

Freiburg host Eintracht Frankfurt in the last league tie of the season. If the latter qualify for the Champions League, it’ll improve their chances of securing Bellingham’s services.

Should Eintracht Frankfurt and BVB make it to the Champions League, there could be a ‘heated bidding war’ for the midfielder. The former are looking at the Black Cats player due to Ellyes Skhiri’s mixed performances and uncertainty around Hugo Larsson’s future.

The report states the youngster wants to make a move to the Bundesliga and Sunderland are requesting €25m for him.

Sunderland take on Sheffield United in the Championship playoff final on May 24th. Bild state England U21 international will make the ‘final decision’ on his future after the tie against the Blades.
