Sunderland are certainly having a positive start to the season.
Regis Le Bris has them top of the Championship on goal difference, thanks to a single goal, ahead of Sheffield United. There’s a big bunch of clubs who still look in the fight for promotion and it’s going to be a struggle to break away from those in the coming weeks.
The Black Cats have a number of very talented youngsters coming through who can help them with that, and one of those is Trai Hume.
An ever present for Sunderland in the Championship so far this season, the 22-year-old is also an important player for Northern Ireland. He’s now got 12 senior caps, and that includes two in the recently concluded international break.
Hume played the full 90 minutes in both the 0-0 draw with Belarus and the 5-0 victory over Bulgaria. His performances in those matches were enough to catch the attention of Marco Palma, a well-known scout in Italy.
For TMW, Palma has picked out his top XI youngsters of the Nations League break, and Hume gets in at right back. Praising, amongst other things, the character he shows in his play and his positioning, Palma is clearly impressed.
