Sunderland could bring Glen Kamara back to the Championship in the winter market, just months after he left Leeds United.
The defensive midfielder spent one season at Leeds United before Stade Rennais secured his services in the summer window.
Kamara’s future at the Ligue 1 side is uncertain and Sunderland are named as a potential destination.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who state the Black Cats have included the 29-year-old’s name in their January target list.
Sunderland are fourth in the table, two points behind second placed Leeds United, and are looking for a new midfielder next month. They have Salis Abdul Samed on loan from RC Lens, but injuries have prevented him from making even one appearance this season.
Therefore, Régis Le Bris has requested for a new midfielder and their aim is to bring in player on a loan deal in the next window. The former Leeds United man is among the names on Sunderland’s table.
Stade Rennais are preparing to offload players, including Kamara, in January. Sunderland’s interest should please the French club, but the report states they haven’t made any concrete moves so far.
