Eliezer Mayenda has been one of the standout players at Sunderland this season and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
The forward has managed six goals and five assists from 27 league games this season and it includes a brace in the Black Cats’ last 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Hoy Aragón say the 19-year-old ‘continues to shine’ at Sunderland and that has seen him ‘arouse the interest’ of several Premier League clubs. European clubs are also closely following him.
The report makes no mention of the clubs looking at the Spaniard.
He arrived at the Championship side from FC Sochaux in July 2023. His development at Sunderland so far indicates he’s ‘no longer a promise, but a growing reality’, according to the report.
As well as operating as a striker, Mayenda can also be used as an attacking midfielder and on the wings. His performances can open the door for him to move.
Hoy Aragón explain the youngster could also receive a call up from Spain’s U21s in the near future.
They insist Mayenda can ‘make the jump to a top-level league sooner rather than later’ if he continues to shine for Sunderland.
The player’s contract lasts until 2028 and he’s valued at €1m by Transfermarkt. Régis Le Bris’ side will certainly request a fee much higher than that if they decide to sell him.
