Sunderland and Crystal Palace are considering contacting Girona about signing Viktor Tsygankov.
Tsygankov played 32 times for Girona last season, mainly on the right wing, managing to score two goals and contribute five assists. The 27-year-old’s progress was hindered as he suffered a hamstring injury in October.
Diari de Girona, which is local to the football club, report Sunderland and Crystal Palace have received positive scouting reports on the Ukrainian international.
Girona have ‘opened the exit door’ for key players at the club to leave, in order to invest the money received.
Sunderland or Crystal Palace are yet to make contact with Girona at this stage, and the interest from the Premier League duo is just that right now.
Despite Sunderland’s interest in Tsygankov, the Black Cats have recently brought in Chemsdine Talbi from Club Brugge for around £17m, who plays in the same position as the Ukrainian.
Tsygankov’s contract last until June of 2027 and includes a €30m release clause. Girona are ready to set a price tag that is lower than the release clause, but that amount hasn’t been made clear.
