We all know how much the Italian media love a good transfer story, so we always say that when they start playing one down, it’s probably because there isn’t a lot there.
This appears to be the case with the Felipe Caicedo to Leeds United story that seemingly started in the footballer’s home country, Ecuador, via Imperio, who stated the Championship side were after the Lazio striker at Marcelo Bielsa’s request.
They even went as far as saying talks could take place ‘in the coming days’ for the 30-year-old, but we wouldn’t recommend you hold your breath on those.
Il Tempo caught wind of this story over the weekend and addressed it in their Monday newspaper, explaining ‘there’s been no confirmation’ for this ‘suggestive theory’.
At least, ‘not yet’.
This certainly isn’t the first time Caicedo has been linked with Leeds, as the story briefly appeared last year off the back of an HITC recommendation.
Much like last time, we wouldn’t read too much into it.
At least, not yet.
