Following the news that Kylian Mbappé was the subject of a €300m bid from Al-Hilal, it was reported that Tottenham were one of the clubs that have come forward for the French star.
This came from L’Equipe, who have another article on the situation, and clarify what may have been a big surprise for Spurs fans around the globe.
Aside from the Al-Hilal offer, which Paris Saint-Germain have accepted to allow them to speak with Mbappé, the player doesn’t seem interested in heading to Saudi Arabia, leaving the door open for other clubs, such as Tottenham.
The London club are mentioned once again, as it’s recalled that Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Spurs have ‘all taken information in the past 48 hours’ from Nasser al-Khelaïfi.
While the first two are said to have since backed out and said they won’t go any further, the same cannot be said for the others.
L’Equipe point out that while certain destinations, and we’ll include Tottenham in that bracket, ‘could be improbable’, it’s added that those in charge of said clubs ‘see a possibility of having Mbappé on loan for a year’ all the while paying a ‘rather important sum’ to convince Paris Saint-Germain to let him go.
Either way, Spurs and Daniel Levy can talk to Paris Saint-Germain all they want, because if the forward doesn’t agree with a move to London, any deal would be off the table.
Still, it sounds like Tottenham are still keen on trying to make a deal happen in case they lose Harry Kane, but even if they get the Ligue 1 side to agree, they might struggle to convince the World Cup winner.
