Spanish outlet Estádio Deportivo tried to bring an exciting update on Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Giovanni Lo Celso on Friday afternoon, yet the claims aren’t exactly watertight.

They first recall the recent rumours saying the London side are in for the Argentine midfielder, and then say Spurs now have more money to make a new attempt.

Estádio Deportivo takes the news that Tottenham have renewed their sponsorship deal with AIA, giving the club £320m over eight years, as a reason why they would be stronger in the race for Lo Celso.

They say that after offering €50m for the player, Spurs would now be in a stronger position to get closer to the €75m demanded by Real Betis.

We’re pretty sure Tottenham have seen this deal coming for months, and the club certainly have an entire plan for that money.

There’s also the fact that there are many expenses to afford, so it’s quite innocent to believe all this ‘cash’ would go to this summer’s transfers.

Even if that was the case, if Daniel Levy doesn’t believe Lo Celso is worth €75m, and that wouldn’t be a controversial position, then Tottenham won’t be hitting that amount.
