On the last day of the January transfer window, Chelsea completed a transfer that didn’t really shock anyone. They loaned Lucas Piazon again, this time to Chievo, where he’s staying until the end of the season.

As the Italian press reacts to the move this Friday, Il Posticipo brings an interesting story recalling the time when the player said no to Juventus.

Piazon belonged to São Paulo at the time, and had been impressing several European sides, even called ‘Del Piero’s heir’ and ‘the new Kaka’.

Il Posticipo recalls that Piazon and his family visited Juventus’ facilities in 2011, and seemed close to making the move, but ended up ‘snubbing’ the Old Lad to join Chelsea ‘for more money’.

Piazon joined Chelsea in January 2012 and only made three appearances for the Blues. He’s been loaned to Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, Fulham, and finally Chievo.

Now maybe his move to Italy makes him think about his past decisions.
