Since José Mourinho said Bruno Fernandes isn’t a target for Tottenham Hotspur, the Portuguese press has been making some big noise about it, with outlets even disagreeing with the manager.

But his denial about Spurs’ interest also opens doors to other rumours, which is the case with Manchester United’s supposed interest in the midfielder.

This saga is revived by newspaper O Jogo. After reporting the quotes from Mourinho, they say Fernandes could still be leaving Sporting soon.

Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are presented as the two main interested sides, who have been ‘following’ the player with attention.

Bruno Fernandes has 12 goals and 10 assists in 19 appearances this season, and continues to show the same high level performances he’s been having for the past couple of years. So it would make sense for Manchester United not to lose their interest.

Newspaper Record also has a story about it, and claims that €70m should be enough to take him, regardless of making the move in January or in the summer.
