There’s little doubt that if they could, PSV would like to keep Marco van Ginkel.
The Chelsea owned player hasn’t been with the London club for quite some time, and is PSV’s captain, but the loan ends this summer and that means the Dutchman arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Whilst Van Ginkel may now be better positioned than ever to make a go of things at Chelsea, he’s also now 25 years of age and probably not willing to take the bench role he may once have accepted at the Premier League club.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf say Van Ginkel is one of a number of players who may have played their last game for PSV at the weekend, and it’s clear the Eredivisie club need to see what they can do to either extend loans or sign players permanently.
There’s an acceptance Van Ginkel is out of PSV’s financial range, and now it’s an interesting and critical situation for the player and Chelsea.
Where to from here?
