Borussia Dortmund announced publicly over the weekend that Andre Schurrle wasn’t being picked for a friendly because he’s in talks to leave the club.
They tweeted it, which may seem odd and it could be transfer games to pressure those interested in the former Chelsea player.
The club who Schurrle was supposed to be in transfer negotiations with wasn’t named, with several German media outlets pushing Crystal Palace forward because they’re the ones most recently linked.
Bild states Crystal Palace are a possible destination, along with another unnamed ‘prospective customer’.
There’s a lot of smoke and mirrors going on here and it would appear tactics are at play. Dortmund continually leak transfer information to their local media and it seems odd to publicly announce talks and then try to keep the name of the clubs secret.
Maybe another club isn’t being named because there is no other club willing to pay Dortmund what they want for Schurrle.
