James Rodriguez’s form at Everton continues to be a hot topic in the Colombian media, where they’re all waiting to see him in action during international duty.
On Tuesday afternoon, former national team defender Aquivaldo Mosquera was speaking to ESPN about the Toffees star, and said he believes that he’ll be doing a good job in the upcoming fixtures.
“For me James has to always play, there is no player like him in Colombia, with that talent,” Aquivaldo Mosquera told ESPN (via Marca).
“I was hearing it was said that he played badly in the last game. They are different encounters when you face teams like Manchester United, everything becomes more complicated.”
However, Mosquera also claimed that Rodriguez deserves more help to truly succeed at Everton.
“Maybe he lacks a teammate at Everton, although for me he’s shown his quality, not only now but always. For me, he has to always play.”
With James Rodriguez being Colombia’s biggest star these days, it’s natural that he’ll be in the spotlight at each international break.
However, the concern this time has been with the fact that he had a small injury which left him out of a couple of games, and when returning for the match against Manchester United last weekend, he didn’t do very well.
Now there’s a big game as Colombia face Uruguay on Friday, and the Everton star must be ready for the challenge.
