Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is working to take his client to a Champions League club and has made contact with Napoli and AC Milan.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who explains Mendes is trying to avoid a scenario where the forward will be without Europe’s elite club competition for one season.
The Portugal international cannot achieve it at Manchester United as they will play in the Europa League this term.
Mendes has resumed contacts with Napoli in the last few hours, after the two parties first held talks for the 37-year-old at the start of this month.
The Serie A side already added Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Giovanni Simeone and Giacomo Raspadori to their attack in this window. The super-agent could help the Naples club bring an important offer for the potential sale of Victor Osimhen.
Gianluca Di Marzio states that ‘one possibility could be represented by Manchester United’, meaning the Red Devils could take Osimhen to replace Ronaldo before the window closes.
There has been no real negotiations set up to date, but there has been contact to understand the Naples club’s position. They will only consider parting ways with Osimhen if they were to receive a ‘triple digit offer’ [€100m or more]. So far, Napoli have not received any proposal in that region for their striker.
It’s unlikely Erik ten Hag’s side will make an offer for the Napoli star as they are working to sign Ajax star Antony.
Ronaldo’s agent tried something similar with Milan. In order to place the Red Devils star at the San Siro, Mendes tried to take Rafael Leão away from them. However, the Serie A winners have no intention of selling their star.
