After Inter and Napoli, this weekend was AS Roma’s turn to have to make a decision on whether or not they wanted to bring in Daniel Sturridge.

The Liverpool striker appears to have been offered to most big Italian clubs of late, as the Reds, and most likely his agent, attempt to find the 28-year-old an escape route from Anfield.

The England international has struggled for regular game time under Jürgen Klopp this season, and with the 2018 World Cup just around the corner, January is the perfect time to rectify this issue.

According to Il Messaggero, Roma were given the opportunity to sign Sturridge in light of the news Edin Dzeko could be on his way to Stamford Bridge, but he hasn’t exactly convinced them this season he’d be worth taking a gamble on.

The option to get Michy Batshuayi on loan is slightly more appealing to them, even if a straight loan of just six months isn’t exactly what they have in mind when sending their starter to London.

So, that’s 0 for 3 in Italy (for now) that we know of for Sturridge.

We’re excited to see where Liverpool offer him next? Fiorentina? Maybe Lazio?
