Even though it’s been quite a few weeks since AC Milan started being linked to Tottenham Hotspur defender Joseph Tanganga, it’s clear that the Rossoneri are having trouble convincing Spurs of a deal for the 23-year-old.
Those issues are today explained by Italian newspaper Tuttosport (via Milan News). The outlet claims that a loan is the likely formula for this move to happen, but the conditions for the transfer to become permanent is what the clubs can’t agree on.
According to the story, Milan want Tanganga to arrive on a simple loan spell where they’d have the right of redemption. Tottenham, meanwhile, ‘push’ for the Rossoneri to have the obligation to buy the defender at the end of the season, or for that right to become obligatory in case certain conditions are met.
The so called ‘stubborn Spurs’ feel no need to bend to the Serie A side’s suggestions, because they actually already have another bid for the player. That’s from Nottingham Forest, who offer €20m for him.
On Milan’s side, there’s Tanganga having a preference for a San Siro move. That should be their main argument in the final talks with Tottenham.
