Everton midfielder Allan is a potential target for Roma as they look to bolster their midfield in the January transfer market.
That’s according to Tele Radio Stereo, relayed by Giallorossi.net, who say the Everton man is the ‘new name’ on the list of options.
They explain that the Blues are ‘doing very badly’ in the Premier League, and Allan is one of them who is ‘struggling a lot’ to find his best form.
Roma are ‘on the lookout’ for midfielders with ‘substance and personality’ to add to their squad, and they believe the Everton man would be ‘ideal’ for Jose Mourinho’s team.
He would reportedly be available on a six-month loan deal, with any talk of a future purchase postponed until the summer.
In other words, a loan deal with a purchase clause for the summer transfer window.
There are some hindrances to the move, and one of those is his salary. He earns over €4m a year at Everton, which is a figure Roma seemingly could not afford.
There is also his age, which does not fit into the idea Tiago Pinto has in mind for the club as he is 31-years-old and they would prefer to focus on younger players.
Still, it seems the idea is there, and we can add Allan to the ever-growing list of players that could be departing Goodison Park next month.
