When Torino announced that Andrea Belotti had renewed his contract, which included a €100m release clause, many saw it just as a way for the club to make a little bit more money in the transfer window.

No one expected them to stand by their public stance of “€100m or nothing”, but, if Tuttosport are to be believed, they seem to be prepared to see it through.

With clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all after the Italian striker, Torino know they can make a lot of money from the 23-year-old, and they’ve apparently already rejected an offer from Inter Milan for their star.

Tuttisport state that Stefano Pioli’s former club made a “€70m + three players”, believed to be Andrea Ranocchia, Davide Santon and an unnamed third, offer for Belotti, which has been rejected.

Now, whether they did this because they don’t have any use for the proposed players, or just want more money, isn’t revealed, but, if true, this is a big statement aimed at José Mourinho and co.

If they are willing to reject €70m for Belotti, they are more than likely to reject any other offers below the €100m threshold.

Manchester United are said to be in first place for Belotti, as the forward is one of their many options to bolster the attacking threat at Old Trafford.

As for the player himself, he isn’t all that unhappy staying in Torino, and especially doesn’t want to cause any problems with the club during a World Cup year.

Basically, it seems he’ll only move if someone meets Torino’s €100m demands and if he’s guaranteed game time.

Otherwise, he’ll stay in Turin.
