According to a claim in the Germany media, Union Berlin are to recall Christopher Lenz from his loan spell with Holstein Kiel because their first choice left back Kristian Pedersen is on the verge of a move to the Championship.

The Dane has been linked with a move to Leeds United in recent weeks and this is a big hint he could be heading to Elland Road, especially considering they’re the only Championship club to have repeated and strong links recently.

Bz Berlin report the German club are already looking to life without Pedersen and are looking at their left back options for next season. It’s expected Lenz will now be recalled by Union Berlin with Peter Kurzweg providing competition.

The German media outlet say Pedersen is now nearing a move to the English second tier, which would lead to the Leeds United angle.

Earlier this month we covered reports from Germany that Leeds United were monitoring the 23 year old and could look to take advantage of his contract situation with Union Berlin.

It was then claimed in Germany that an offer had been made by Leeds.

Pedersen has just 12 months left on his current deal and Leeds could pick him up for just a couple of million or less this summer.
