That Norwich City are interested in Kwasi Okyere Wriedt isn’t anything new.
Back in July, there were a number of stories claiming the newly promoted side were keen on the 25-year-old Bayern Munich II player, but, in the end, a transfer never happened.
Fussball Transfers in Germany reiterate this, claiming ‘feelers’ were extended by Norwich City about a possible move, and the situation is now evolving in their favour.
The reason for that is due to the fact Wriedt’s contract with the German side is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning he will be free to choose a new club from January onwards.
As well as Daniel Farke’s side, Hertha BSC and Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga have let him know he is on their radar, and other sides from 2.Bundesliga and the Eredivisie have started circling.
It seems there is little interest from Wriedt’s end to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, as Fussball Transfers claim he will ‘not put himself under pressure’ as he ‘may negotiate official and without the consent of Bayern with other clubs’.
Whether Norwich City will be among those clubs remains to be seen, but if they were keen last this summer, that should still be the case, especially since his form (eight goals in 11 appearances) has continued in the 3.Bundesliga after scoring 24 in 34 last year in the Regionalliga Bayern.
Certainly a situation to keep an eye on going forward.
