Diego Costa is not expected to join Wolverhampton Wanderers in the winter market, a source has told Sport Witness.
The striker is a free agent after terminating his contract with Atlético Madrid on December 29th.
Two days ago, the Daily Mail reported the 32-year-old has put Wolves and Arsenal on alert after ending his association with the La Liga side. It was also stated Wolves are ‘contemplating a move’ for the frontman.
Nuno Espírito Santo has been without his star striker Raúl Jiménez since the Mexican suffered a skull fracture against Arsenal at the end of November.
Jiménez’s long-term absence has seen Wolves being linked with a handful of strikers and that includes the former Chelsea man.
However, a source has told Sport Witness the attacker is not looking to move to Molineux in the ongoing window.
Costa is available on a free transfer and is likely to attract interest from many clubs, but it’s also worth noting he hasn’t featured regularly for Atlético this season.
He made only seven appearances for Diego Simeone’s side and only three of those have come since the end of October.
