Last week, we saw Brighton & Hove Albion being pointed out as one of the potential destinations for Fiorentina striker Christian Kouamé.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed the Seagulls, along with FC Augsburg, have ‘interest’ in the 24-year-old, who could indeed leave the Serie A side this summer.
Today, it’s Radio Toscana who had a word with market expert Niccolo Ceccarini to talk about Fiorentina’s transfer business.
There, he commented on several situations, and one of them is about Kouamé, who’s once again labelled as one of the candidates to move out of La Viola.
“On Kouamè, there are loan proposals with conditional obligation: Ausburg, Brighton and PSV Eindoven are on the Ivorian but now his performances are convincing. With Ikoné still not at the top, they would like to keep Kouamè even if he has a lot of market. In addition, he has the esteem of Italiano,” said Ceccarini (via Fiorentina News).
Kouamé returned to Fiorentina this summer following a loan at Anderlecht.
In Belgium, he had 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances, and his season there is apparently what attracted the interest from those clubs.
For now, it isn’t said how much Brighton would like to pay for the player, even though they seem to be moving just for a temporary transfer for now.
