Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst is being ‘considered’ by Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Veronica Inside, who report their editors have been told by sources that the Dutch striker is on Chelsea’s and Borussia Dortmund’s lists as a potential target.
Weghorst has been enjoying another fine season in Germany, with 20 goals and eight assists to his name in the Bundesliga.
He’s built on an impressive season last year, in which he managed 16 goals and three assists in 32 Bundesliga games.
Those performances led to heavy links to a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham named as suitors all summer.
Those are likely to re-emerge this summer, particularly if Harry Kane leaves, but it’s rivals Chelsea who are apparently at the front of the queue.
Veronica Inside report that he is ‘being considered’ by both the Blues and Borussia Dortmund, who could be on the hunt for a new striker this summer.
There’s no hint that either side have made a move or even contacted the player as yet, just that they’re aware of his performances this season and keeping an eye on him as a result.
