Salomon Kalou says he is waiting for West Ham to show they want him before discussing a move to the club.
The forward finds himself out of favour at the German side, with the arrival of Krzysztof Piątek from AC Milan only further pushing him down the pecking order.
He has subsequently been linked with a move away from the club and yesterday we covered a report from Kicker that West Ham were keen on his signature.
According to the newspaper they had ‘sent a request’ to the German club about the player as they look to improve their options on deadline day.
Berliner Kurier backed that up today by stating that the Hammers had ‘reached out’ and that the 34-year-old was waiting for some contract details to be ‘clarified’ with them.
That suggested that a move to West Ham was very much in the offing, but Kalou says he is still waiting for a call to show they are seriously interested.
“Everything really started for me in London,” he told Bild, referencing his six years with Chelsea.
“Now the circle would close. London would be interesting; I’m waiting for a call that they really want me. Then we can talk.”
