Manchester City’s Filip Stevanovic is currently training with Girona, although the Spanish side are insistent no transfer is on the cards.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say it is currently only a training arrangement at this moment in time.
Stevanovic returned to Manchester City this summer from a loan deal with Heerenveen last year but is likely to be shipped out again before the end of the transfer window.
A deal is yet to be arranged with any club, and, in the interim, it seems the young Serbian has travelled to Spain to train with another club under the City Group banner.
Mundo Deportivo state that the player is ‘training with Girona’ under the orders of manager Míchel Sánchez, but the club ‘deny’ that his signing is a done deal. In fact, for now, they claim that he is only training with the team and nothing more.
For the moment, he is not expected to join the club, despite loan deals between Manchester City and Girona being a regular thing.
Last season alone saw Nahuel Bustos, Pablo Moreno and Darío Sarmiento playing at the club, but there is an insistence Stevanovic will not be following in their footsteps.
Perhaps it is a case of Girona wanting to look at him first before deciding anything; hence the insistence it’s just a training agreement for now.
