Now that Wolverhampton Wanderers are officially going back to the Premier League, let the Jorge Mendes games begin.

Back in January, a very strange rumour appeared, which we tracked down to some weird ITK account, claiming the Championship side had made a £42m bid for AC Milan’s André Silva, whom the Serie A club had only just bought six months prior for around £34m.

It quickly disappeared, but there’s a good chance it could make a resurgence in the coming months, as the Italian side look to offload him, even if only temporarily, in the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport explain AS Monaco is the most likely destination, as the Ligue 1 club could offer them someone like Baldé Keita in return.

While Wolves aren’t mentioned, we know how Jorge Mendes works, and following Ruben Neves’ fantastic season at Molineux after his move from Porto, there’s a good chance the super agent will try and sort something similar for André Silva.

Whether that is using Wolverhampton directly by sending the 22-year-old there or just mentioning them to the media as an interested side to drive up interest remains to be seen, but don’t be surprised if you see the Portuguese striker’s and Nuno Esperito Santo’s side’s names next to each in the foreign press as we edge closer to the transfer window opening.

Looking at how he’s played his season, there’s also a good chance his price tag will have dropped a bit, too.
