Sometimes, you see a transfer, and you know something is going on behind the scenes that doesn’t add up.
Leo Mazis move from Celtic to Triestina was the perfect case in point. Back in January the Italian side randomly announced they’d secured the 20-year-old and even had the customary photos to prove it.
This seemed to have been wholly ignored by Celtic, who either weren’t bothered or weren’t aware that he was on his way.
That itself was pretty strange given when Mazis originally arrived from Australian side Belconned United after a trial with the Spanish champions; there seemed to be plenty of hope he could be a future star.
Anyway, the youngster was hoping to give his career a kick in Italy and go on to bigger and better things after his brief Celtic career.
That, though, hasn’t happened. Just over a month after departing Parkhead, it seems Mazis is on the move again.
Tuttomercatoweb report that the youngster is now a free agent, with Triestina having agreed to ‘mutually’ terminate his contract for ‘personal reasons’.
What those reasons are, aren’t mentioned, although it does state they had signed him after he ‘freed himself from Celtic’, confirming our earlier suspicions that he’d been let go.
Mazis is now left to find himself a new club and hope he can get back on track.
