The Spanish press doesn’t sound very confident that Getafe will use their buying option to sign Samu Saíz from Leeds United on a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

Outlet Marca brings a story today saying the 28-year-old, who joined the La Liga side on a loan deal back in January, isn’t doing enough to impress the club.

Sáiz had a decent start at Getafe, making six appearances in a month. But the player hasn’t been used since February, and doesn’t have a single minute played in the past nine matches.

Marca writes that although Getafe claim they haven’t made a decision regarding the buying option yet, it’s becoming clear that Sáiz is being returned to Leeds at the end of the season.

The outlet adds that Leeds’ intention is to wait for other offers from Spain, so they can move the footballer back to his home country, as requested by the player himself.

Sáiz’s situation is called a ‘strange case’, but there may be hope around the corner. Marca say Leeds ‘expect’ to receive offers from his home country.
