The agent representing Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite has denied that the player is on the way to either West Ham or Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
Braithwaite is on the list of players Barcelona would like to move on as they look to raise funds and slash their wage bill considerably.
There is interest from the Premier League, particularly after the player performed well for Denmark in their run to the semi-finals of the European Championships.
West Ham are known to be long-term admirers and tried to sign the player last year and in January, and it has been rumoured that they could return, with Hammers boss David Moyes needing to add a striker to his squad.
Wolves were also thrown into the mix recently by the Spanish press, who stated that Jorge Mendes was working hard to get the player to Molineux.
Braithwaite’s agent is having none of that, though, insisting that his client is going to neither West Ham or Wolves, and Mendes has no part in his future either.
“All these stories are false,” he told BT in Denmark.
“Jorge Mendes has nothing to do with Martin Braithwaite; it is also false like all the other writings.
“Jorge Mendes does not have players in Barcelona; he has players in Wolverhampton, he can focus on, then I take care of my players in Barcelona.
“Why should Martin Braithwaite switch to Wolverhampton, and why should an agent who has no players in Barcelona try to get my player to Wolverhampton, even though I know Jorge Mendes has good connections to clubs like Wolverhampton? It’s a waste of everyone’s time.
“Martin Braithwaite plays in the biggest club in the world; he works with one of the biggest coaches in the world.
“From day one until now, everything has exceeded all expectations in terms of playing time in Barcelona and well-being at the club, and he is very happy.
“He was one of the best players at the European Championships with some incredible statistics, and he will continue in Barcelona.”
