Stoke City have won the ‘tug of war’ for Rotherham goalkeeper Viktor Johansson, and he’s already travelling to the Potteries to sort out the move.
Aftonbladet reports that after recent serious rumours about Johansson’s future with Rotherham following their relegation to the League One, it seems his future has now been decided.
The goalkeeper had been linked with Leeds, Stoke and Southampton and a couple of other teams in the Championship but it is the Potters who have won the race.
Sport Bladet report that Stoke have activated a release clause in his contract with Rotherham and he was at Arlanda airport on Thursday evening to fly to Stoke to complete the move. They even have a photo of him, with his luggage, waiting to catch his flight in the airport.
According to their information if everything goes as planned, he will presented as Stoke’s latest signing in the next few days. It could even be announced over the weekend,
There’s no details on the contract he’ll be signing with Stoke or what that is worth at present, but we’re sure those details will be forthcoming.
For now, it appears he’s on his way to Stoke and ready to complete his move from Rotherham in due course.
