Nine days into the transfer window, and Stoke City have finalised a transfer, and, despite it being an outgoing, it’s one that could be a good move for the future.

Plucked from Stade Best 29’s U19s back in January 2016, Hakim Abdallah has taken the decision to return to France for the foreseeable future in the shape of a loan to US Avranches, who play in their country’s third tier, the Championnat National.

Confirmed on the club’s website on Monday, which also happens to be the player’s birthday, the 19-year-old’s signing comes in the shape of a six-month loan, with the possibility of the deal being extended by an extra year to 18 months.

US Avranches also revealed it was the player’s wish to move away from Stoke’s U23s, feeling his development would be better served playing first-team football somewhere than in the Premier League side’s reserves.

Already representing his country at U19 level, the youngster made 10 appearances for Stoke’s U23s over the past year, scoring two goals along the way.
