Stoke City loanee Joselu Mato is getting started on his recovery in Spain. The 26-year-old suffered a knee ligament injury last month, which left him out of the entire start of the season.

Spanish outlet Sport has a story today saying the player has already started running on the training ground, besides doing specific physical work at the gym.

Joselu got injured on September 11th, during his debut for Deportivo La Coruña. After only 24 minutes on the pitch, he was on the wrong end of a challenge from Athletic Bilbao’s Raul Garcia and harmed the internal lateral ligament in his right knee. This Monday’s training session was his first since then.

The striker joined Stoke City in 2015 from Hannover 96 for €8m. He had an impressive debut season in England, with four goals and four assists in 12 appearances.

His loan period at Deportivo La Coruña expires next summer, with his contract with the Potters runs until 2018.
