Once you’ve been a Barcelona player, you’ll always sort of belong to the club in the eyes of the Catalan media, especially if you do something good.
Therefore it’s no surprise to see Stoke City’s Marc Muniesa receiving praise from Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday.
Not only has he got in the former Barcelona player’s Team of the Week (yes, that’s an actual thing), alongside the likes of Xavi and Pepe Reina, but Mundo Deportivo sound genuinely delighted that he looks to be on a new, more positive, road at Stoke City.
Mark Hughes has made it clear he wants to keep Muniesa at Stoke City, and in the team again against Burnley on Saturday, Muniesa responded with a rare goal.
After also playing against Watford, these are much brighter times for Muniesa, who seems to be genuinely happy with his life in England. Stoke City fans have taken to the 24 year old Spaniard, and he clearly wants to succeed for the club.
There’s been Spanish interest in Muniesa but if he’s getting minutes then there seems absolutely no reason to consider a January exit from Stoke.
