Walace’s quick adaptation to Hamburg seems to have impressed other clubs from abroad. The Brazilian midfielder took only a couple of game to show he’s a real deal, and that seems to have attracted the eyes from some other sides.
ESPN Brasil has a story today saying Stoke City have joined the list of clubs who want him, as Everton and Leicester City still keep their interest.
Although they don’t credit their information to any other source, it sounds like these claims come from the English reports which said the Potters have recently scouted the midfielder. It doesn’t really look like an excited agent wanting an early move.
Walace has just joined Hamburg on a €9.2m deal from Grêmio in January, and English clubs were also in the race at the time. That’s where the Leicester and Everton links come from.
As reported by Sport Witness in December, Leicester City were keeping an eye on many Southern talents from Brazil and Walace was one of them. Grêmio were asking for around €10m, and the Foxes couldn’t manage a deal.
Having signed a four-year contract, it’s unlikely Walace will leave Hamburg for a cheap price. English clubs may even battle for him in the summer, but we don’t see him walking away from Germany so easily.
