Stoke City defender Marc Muniesa is on the front page of Thursday’s edition of Estadio Deportivo as the Seville newspaper looks ahead to the January transfer window.

Mark Hughes hasn’t been relying on Muniesa and that’s led the Spanish defender to suggest a winter move is a real possibility. Estadio Deportivo believe Muniesa could be returning to La Liga, and there’s two clubs interested in the player.

Real Betis are said to be keen, and they need a left footed defender, which the 24 year old former Barcelona player is. Granada are also keen and they need to make January additions after a torrid start to the season.

Conceding 26 goals, they’ve lost 7 and drawn 5. It’s not the most attractive of destinations.

Betis is a much more welcoming idea. One of Spain’s bigger clubs, they currently stand 13th in La Liga, having finished 10th last season.

It’s clearly felt in Spain that Muniesa is very much available and that’s only likely to see the interest grow between now and the January transfer window.
