Stoke City and Chelsea are showing an interest in AC Milan defender Moris Sportelli, according to claims in the Italian media. The 16-year-old has yet to make his debut for the senior team, understandably, but has already been compared to former San Siro star Alessandro Nesta.
TMW have today revealed Stoke City, Chelsea and Sevilla are all monitoring the situation with Sportelli. The three clubs have sent scouts to watch the central defender in action for the AC Milan youth team, with reports they have been impressed with the player’s performances.
However, AC Milan see Sportelli as one for the future with the Serie A side and have bracketed him with the likes of first-teamers Zanellato Plizzati and Gianluigi Donnarumma, who also came through the youth system.
Stoke City and Chelsea could take advantage of his situation at AC Milan because due to his age he’s yet to sign a professional contract with the Italian side. AC Milan will need to tie him down once he’s eligible to sign a contract or risk losing the youngster to the Premier League.
