Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has spoken to the Turkish press about Everton’s latest signing Cenk Tosun.

The Turkey international this week signed for Everton from the Turkish champions.

Milliyet have reported on comments Gunes made when asked about the Everton new boy: “I wish him the best of luck at Everton, he’s a terrific player. He has been a great servant for this club and deserves that move. He still has room for development, his future will be very good if he keeps working.”

Everton had been linked with Tosun in recent months, and they finally got an agreement with the player and Besiktas a few days ago.

It’s expected Tosun will make his debut for the Merseyside club when they face Tottenham Hotspur next weekend, and it’s hoped he will solve Everton’s problems in attack.

The Premier League side have been short in this department since Romelu Lukaku signed for Manchester United in the last transfer window.

Beskitas are now in the hunt for a forward to replace the 26 year old, and it seems Leicester City’s Islam Slimani is their number one target.
