As Flamengo currently negotiate the arrival of Arturo Vidal as a free agent this summer, they must also take a decision on the future of another player from the position, which is Andreas Pereira.
On loan from Manchester United until the end of June, the player has been having a disappointing spell at the Rio de Janeiro side.
The problem is that Flamengo, who already had a €20m deal to sign him permanently from the Red Devils, then reached an agreement to get the purchase done for €10m, and now seem afraid of backing down.
Outlet O Globo features a piece explaining the whole scenario today. They claim there’s ‘still no movement’ from the Rio de Janeiro side regarding Manchester United’s Pereira.
It’s said his agent Giuliano Bertolucci claims to have received ‘no signal’ from Flamengo regarding the purchase or the deal collapsing. O Globo claims the club are taking this issue ‘very carefully’, as they don’t want to lose their good relationship with one of the best market partners they have.
In case of a return to Manchester United, Pereira’s contract with the club runs until 2023.
