There is ‘still no clarity’ on the future of PSV Eindhoven star Denzel Dumfries, despite the persistent links to Everton.

That’s what Eidhovens Dagblad report today, stating that a transfer is ‘still expected’ for full-back at some point.

As you’ll be aware, Dumfries has been heavily linked with a move to Everton for several months, with it made clear before the Euros that Marcel Brands is a big fan of the player.

He went on to be a star at the summer tournament, and that only ramped up interest, with Inter Milan also eyeing him as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi.

After a flurry of various reports about a potential move to Everton or Inter Milan, there has been little on Dumfries of late but ED have something today.

They say that PSV’s tally for sales this summer currently stands at €38m, but that amount can increase if certain bonuses are met.

It will also increase if a suitor is found for Dumfries, who would represent a ‘substantial transfer value’ as he is expected to bring in ‘more than fifteen million euros’.

Unfortunately, there is still no ‘clarity’ on his situation, although a transfer is ‘expected’ to happen at some point.

Now there is no mention of Everton or Inter Milan here, to be clear, but the fact that PSV are still expecting a transfer to happen should be taken as a positive sign.

They clearly think someone is going to come in with the required money at some point, although whether it’s the Italians or the Toffees is still seemingly in the air.
