Earlier this week, Gazzetta dello Sport explained that Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia is keen on joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer window.
The Premier League side made an attempt to sign the striker at the end of last summer, but the Serie A side rejected their proposal.
According to Tutto Salernitana, Wolves haven’t forgotten about the Senegal international.
Gary O’Neil’s side are ‘still interested’ in the player, and it’s claimed they will ‘try again’ to sign him in the next window.
Salernitana paid €12m to buy the frontman from Villarreal in 2023, and the report says they are requesting at least the same figure to part ways with him.
There’s no mention of the fee Wolves are ready to offer for Dia, but Gazzetta indicated three days ago that the English club are offering less than other interested parties.
There’s an ongoing conflict between Dia and Salernitana, and they are waiting for the Arbitration Board’s decision at the end of this month. The report says this ‘will have an influence’, likely on his asking price.
Salernitana have been relegated from the Serie A. Wolves could use this and Dia’s desire to move to England to secure his services for a reasonable price.
