If you followed the summer transfer window news, you’ll be aware that Weston McKennie was one of the players Juventus were looking to get rid of.
There was a market for him in England, and Tottenham, who had freshly appointed Fabio Paratici as their director of football, were reportedly one of the interested clubs.
A deal was never made, but that doesn’t mean the opportunity won’t present itself in January for Antonio Conte and his new Spurs, as explained by Calciomercato.
Despite having had a sort of ‘rebirth’ of late under Max Allegri, becoming a ‘first choice’ for the manager, his ‘climb is not over’, and there is ‘still a lot to do’ for the USA international.
In fact, Calciomercato claim he is ‘still an expendable player’ and ‘can still leave in front of an offer of €20m’.
It’s then stated the player is ‘liked by the Tottenham of Paratici and Conte’, as the former Inter manager might end up wanting some new players in January at Spurs.
That being said, the website don’t give up on McKennie just yet, telling their readers that with the transfer window still ‘two months away’, there is ‘plenty of time to do another magic and become an untouchable at Juventus’.
