Ianis Hagi will have to return to Rangers after his loan spell at Deportivo Alavés and it’s unlikely Philippe Clement will include him in his plans at Ibrox next season.

The attacking midfielder has clocked in 845 minutes from 25 games this season, scoring two goals and managing an assist in the process for the La Liga side. His game time has been drastically reduced this year, restricting him to only eight appearances.

Hagi has over two years left on his deal at Ibrox, but Rangers are keen to get rid of him in the summer window. That’s at least what Fanatik are reporting, and add that Philippe Clement’s side have put him up for sale.

The Romania international was born in Istanbul in 1998, when his father Gheorghe Hagi was playing for Galatasaray. Hagi sr. had earlier talked about his wish to see the Rangers man represent the Turkish club.

With Rangers making the 25-year-old available in the market, it’s claimed Galatasaray ‘may step in’ now to sign him. In other words, they aren’t ruling out an attempt in the next window.

There’s no mention of the fee requested by Rangers or what the Istanbul club could offer, if they decide to make an approach for Ianis Hagi.
