The recent rumours linking João Mário to Manchester United may not have been so convincing, but as any other news about the Red Devils, the story got quite big.

It’s no surprise that the Portuguese press is excited about it, and even though they don’t seem to have any info on the case, they found a way to write something.

Newspaper O Jogo managed an interview with the former Manchester United player Nani this week. The winger, who’s currently at Lazio, has talked to the outlet in Italy, commenting on his hopes of being called up for the World Cup this year.

Nani faced João Mario in Serie A a week ago, and as he was seen chatting with João Mario after the game, he was asked if he knows something about his national teammate’s issues at Inter Milan.

“I don’t know what is going on with João Mario, nor what is his situation here. What I can say is that he is a good player, has a lot of talent and has already shown it. It’s a complicated situation,” Nani told O Jogo.

“The advice I can give him is to continue working and to show, every time he’s used, that he always deserves to play.”

O Jogo used the quotes to say that Nani is ‘defending the midfielder’s talent, who could leave the club and is linked to Manchester United’. But if they depend on Nani to tell them something about the case, it seems there isn’t much info.
